Logline: Sarah Palin isn’t just Caribou Barbie, she’s a politician with a past. Barracuda is a (dark) comedy based on the true story of how a P.T.A. mom - armed with only good looks and arctic chutzpah - becomes mayor of Wasilla, Alaska...and then is nearly recalled when the town actually gets to know her. Think Nixon meets Clueless.  Or Election for grown-ups.

Summary: Based on extensive research in Anchorage, Wasilla, and the National Archive repository in Seattle, Barracuda reveals many offbeat aspects of Sarah Palin’s character, home town, and early political career. It’s a political coming of age story co-written by an Alaska-based writer that will tap into the deep enthusiasm - and perhaps deeper concern – that Americans feel about a possible Palin presidency.

Why now? Palin emerged from the election the most popular Republican in America, and is sure to remain a pop culture icon for at least the next four years. Whether out of attraction or repulsion, Palin is unusually compelling to people on both sides of the aisle. Hence the $7.5 million book deal she’s rumored to have landed. And why Variety reported that Dustin Lance Black (Milk) thinks the Palin story is “an ideal movie scenario,” and Tom McCarthy (The Visitor) calls the Palin story the real-world event that most lends itself to a movie.

RADIO: Marketplace
The good folks at Marpletplace (by American Public Radio) ran a commentary of mine. About a million folks talked on their cell phones while I rambled on about selling your right to vote. You can read or listen to it here.
RADIO & TV: Dan Fagan Show
I've been on a guest several times on the Dan Fagan Show, the most listened to talk radio program in Alaska.  Kind of amazingly, after one appearance he invited me back to say I'd convinced him to tone down his conservative vitriol...a bit.

I wrote a tiny little review of this island in Honduras for this web site with a slightly embarrassing name.
